Back from a very relaxing weekend and tiptoeing into the week.


Contemplated taking a dip in this swimming hole but it was way too cold!

Everything was so green and beautiful. This church sits on the bank of a stream-mountains above and water below. I sat on the edge of the water and read a book-it was so peaceful.

Woodstock Bum

I'm knee deep in yellow feathers-Woodstock bum completed!

Dresses

One Snoopy costume down, a Woodstock to go. I've managed some thrifting and came home with a few more vintage handmade dresses. The quality and attention to detail always amazes me. Love love the tiny buttons and fabrics. I'm thinking about hanging them for inspiration like this and this. Hope you had a great weekend!

Summer Projects

I have to confess-my craftiness has taken a severe nose dive recently and so I don't have much to show you. I'm not sure how inspiring white felt and yellow feathers are-any extra time that I've had has been devoted to making Snoopy and Woodstock costumes for work. So until I get those finished, I'll show you what I plan on making after the Peanuts leave town...
The pillows in the photo above are made from handkerchiefs and cotton. I'm going to make this for a friend who just had a baby girl-instructions found here.

I would also love to learn how to make a patchwork quilt or more realistically, start small, placemats maybe?

One of my biggest summer projects is going to be putting our wedding pictures into an album-such perfect timing with the debut of the Martha Stewart Crafts line.
Hopefully this post will keep me organized and inspired-what are your summer projects?

I Carried A Watermelon

 
I just realized that I missed this-what could be better than seeing Swayze bite his lower lip and give Baby the come hither finger gesture on the big screen? My love for this movie is never ending, how can you not love something that brought us rolled up jean shorts or the opportunity to hear Patrick Swayze sing "She's Like the Wind"? My brother used to taunt my friends and I by changing the lyrics to "She's Got Some Wind"- we'd roll our eyes and go back to applying the blue eyeliner and frosted lipstick.

Did anybody see the Dirty Dancing tour? My best friend got a chance to go and I was incredibly jealous until she came back appalled that the only cast member there was the Kellerman's old guy. We would pop in the vhs and watch the end when the dancers danced down the aisle-and then would run down to my basement and practice and dream of Johnny...

Summer Lovin'

Loving JCrew's summer line- I think that long flowy dresses are gonna be just the thing for this summer. Perfect for this won't go near shorts girl. Now I just need to find us a tropical location to wear these beauties- they probably weren't made for walking the dog...Have a great start to your week!
